(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)— Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is overjoyed to reveal that it has brought home two honours in the 2022 Auto123.com Awards. The Subaru Legacy and Crosstrek topped their segments, winning 2022 Midsize/Full-size Car of the Year and 2022 Subcompact SUV of the Year, respectively.
For the 2022 awards, the expert panel was made up of a core team of veteran contributors and test drivers, content managers and editors, placing votes in 22 designated categories for the vehicles considered the best and most noteworthy.
Commenting on the methodology, Auto123.com stated, “the winners of the annual Auto123.com awards are chosen early in the new year from an initial list of eligible vehicles, which is not limited to all-new or substantially revised models. In other words, a model might be ‘aging,’ but if it’s still better than all the others in its segment in the view of Auto123’s panelists, it will be the top choice.”
In selecting its winners, Auto123.com praised the Subaru Crosstrek’s looks, all-wheel-drive system, and multiple powertrain options. These factors helped it beat out its newer competitors.
For the Legacy, Auto123.com enjoyed the overall quality, citing the vehicle's reputation of being durable and its renowned all-wheel drive. Driving pleasure was also celebrated thanks to the 2.4-litre turbocharged BOXER engine found in the Limited GT and Premier GT trim levels.
