All-electric power, all-around safety

Safety is a hallmark at Subaru and the 2026 Subaru Solterra takes that legacy into the all-electric era. The strengthened e-Subaru Global Platform surrounds passengers with structural integrity. Symmetrical Full-Time AWD and dual-function X-MODE® add confident traction in any condition, while the latest EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology helps monitor traffic and support the driver. Standard Safe Exit Assist and an available 360° Surround-View Camera further enhance awareness. Together, these systems help make the Subaru Solterra one of the safest EVs on Canadian roads.

Advanced awareness, instant response

The Solterra integrates a network of advanced active safety systems engineered to anticipate and assist. Symmetrical Full-Time AWD works seamlessly with Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control to preserve balance and composure on slick or uneven roads. The latest EyeSight®◊ Driver Assist Technology adds intelligence to every drive, detecting hazards, adjusting throttle or braking, and providing gentle steering support to help you remain centred, secure and fully in control.

EyeSight Disclaimer

EyeSight® Driver Assistance Technologies may not operate optimally under all driving conditions. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors such as vehicle maintenance, and weather and road conditions. See Owner's Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Please remember to turn off EyeSight when going through a car wash.

Superior Visibility, Superior Safety

The design of the Solterra promotes outstanding outward visibility for greater confidence in every condition. A low hood line, slim A-pillars and expansive glass create a bright, open cabin that helps reduce blind spots. Large, door-mounted mirrors improve rearward vision, while the available 360° Surround-View Camera provides a full bird’s-eye perspective when parking or manoeuvring, boosting awareness from every angle.

Rearview Camera

Standard on every Solterra, the rearview camera projects a clear, high-resolution image onto the central display to make reversing safer and easier. Dynamic guidelines adjust with steering input to show your projected path, improving precision in tight spaces. An available camera washer keeps the lens clean in mud, slush or snow, essential for real Canadian driving conditions.

Panoramic View Monitor

Available on the Solterra Technology trim, the Panoramic View Monitor uses four wide-angle cameras to create a near 360-degree image on the centre display. This bird’s-eye perspective makes it easier to gauge distance and position when manoeuvring in tight areas. Integrated with Front Cross Traffic Alert and Parking Support Brake, it enhances awareness, safety and confidence in crowded environments.

EyeSight® Driver Assistance Technologies

Every Solterra features next-generation EyeSight® Driver Assistance Technologies that use a wide-angle camera and recognition/control software to identify hazards and assist as needed. The suite incorporates the Pre-Collision System, Acceleration Suppression at Low Speed, Parking Support Brake, Road Sign Assist (RSA) with speed limiter, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Prevention, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Proactive Driving Assist (PDA), Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS), Emergency Steering Assist (PCS system) and Intersection Collision Avoidance Support. Always watching, always ready—extra confidence for every drive.

Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Standard on every Solterra, the Blind Spot Monitor uses radar sensors to detect vehicles hidden from view and alerts the driver with a discrete indicator in the side mirror. Rear Cross Traffic Alert provides audible and visual warnings of approaching traffic while reversing, helping to prevent collisions in parking lots or driveways. Together, these systems expand your awareness and enhance confidence in busy, real-world conditions.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

Standard Safe Exit Assist adds an extra layer of awareness when the vehicle is stationary. Using radar sensors from the Blind Spot Monitor, the system detects vehicles or cyclists approaching from behind and issues both audible and visual warnings before a door opens. By anticipating potential conflicts, it helps protect occupants and passing traffic alike, delivering peace of mind, even after the drive ends.

Reverse Automatic Braking

When reversing, Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) uses ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles directly behind the vehicle. If a potential collision is detected, the system first issues visual and audible warnings that increase in urgency as you approach the object. If the driver does not react, RAB can automatically apply the brakes to help avoid or reduce impact. It’s simple, effective reassurance every time you back up.

LED with High Beam Assist (HBA)

Standard on every Solterra, the advanced LED Headlights with High Beam Assist (HBA) system delivers crisp, even illumination for maximum visibility. Sensors detect oncoming or leading traffic and automatically switch between high and low beams to prevent glare while maintaining a clear view of the road ahead. Designed for safety and courtesy, this intelligent lighting system lets you see and be seen.

Braking System

The braking system on the Subaru Solterra is engineered for stability and control in every condition. Electronic Brake-Force Distribution automatically adjusts pressure between the front and rear wheels according to load, while Brake Assist boosts stopping power in sudden emergencies. Brake Override reduces motor torque if both pedals are pressed, and Auto Vehicle Hold maintains position on hills or at stoplights. The result is smooth, consistent, confidence-inspiring control.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) constantly monitors steering, wheel speed and lateral motion to help keep the Solterra tracking true. By adjusting motor output, braking force and torque distribution in real time, it enhances stability on slippery surfaces and during cornering. The integrated Active Cornering Assist system applies gentle braking to the inside wheel, sharpening turn-in response and improving overall control.

All-around protection—every time

The e-Subaru Global Platform serves as the foundation for the Solterra’s incredible strength and supreme levels of safety. This ultra-rigid structure absorbs and redirects impact energy away from both the passenger cabin and the battery pack, preserving integrity in every type of collision. Reinforced crumple zones, integrated crossmembers and strategically engineered load paths enhance protection from all angles, while the platform’s inherent stability works seamlessly with active systems to help prevent and mitigate danger.

Advanced Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame

The proprietary Subaru Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame creates a continuous high-strength steel structure that surrounds and protects the passenger cabin. In a collision, the design channels and disperses impact energy through multiple load paths to maintain the body’s structural integrity. Reinforced underfloor panels and counterforce supports provide an added layer of protection for the battery pack, shielding it from debris, side impacts and potential rollovers.

Airbags

This EV SUV is equipped with a comprehensive network of airbags designed to help protect occupants from every angle. Dual-stage front airbags work in conjunction with seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags with rollover sensors to cushion and shield the head and torso. Additional driver and passenger knee airbags provide enhanced lower-body protection, creating a complete safety envelope for everyone on board.

Injury-Reducing Seats and Seatbelt Systems

The seating and restraint systems are engineered for both comfort and protection. Front seats use energy-absorbing frames and active headrests to help reduce whiplash in rear collisions, while three-point seatbelts feature pretensioners and load limiters to manage impact forces. Rear outboard belts offer the same security, and ISO FIX/LATCH anchors simplify child-seat installation. Belt engagement indicators confirm proper fastening, proof of attention to every safety detail.
