Adventurous at heart,
rugged to the core
The 2021 Subaru Outback sports an exterior design that is both bold and purposeful. The rugged qualities of this authentic adventurer shine through in the aggressive front fascia, cutting-edge front LED headlights and sweeping rear LED taillights. The overall stance of the vehicle is wider and more planted than past generations, while improved aerodynamics help to improve efficiency and stability. The high ground clearance and generous glass area complete the picture, emphasizing that the Outback features a commanding view of the road—any road.
Roof Rails with Swing-in-place Crossbars
The cargo-carrying capacity of the Subaru Outback gets a big boost courtesy of the standard roof rails with swing-in-place crossbars. Practical tie-down holes create the added versatility needed for a wider variety of gear, while the crossbars can be moved forward or back to accommodate items of different lengths. The roof rails on the Premier trim level feature slick silver accents.
Power Liftgate
Featured on the Touring trim level and above, the power liftgate can be operated via the key fob or by triggering the hands-free sensor located near the Subaru badge. This flexibility allows for quick and easy access to the cargo area—even if your hands are full. The innovative liftgate also features an auto-close function, an integrated safety sensor that detects objects in its path and a stop-position memory function to set the opening height.
Power Sunroof
This power sunroof slides open to reveal a fantastic view of the sky above or tilts open to circulate fresh air throughout the cabin. For particularly hot or sunny days, the manual sunshade is ready to provide cool comfort. The Subaru Outback features ample headroom, so even the tallest passengers can enjoy the sunroof and still have room to manoeuvre.
Generous Ground Clearance
The authentic go-anywhere capability of the Subaru Outback is further enhanced by 220 mm of ground clearance, more than enough to clear the average obstacle. This feature also comes in handy when driving through deep snow, in ruts or over pothole-strewn surfaces.
Aluminum Alloy Wheels
There are three bold and ruggedly-looking aluminum alloy wheel packages available for the 2021 Subaru Outback. The Touring trim level features daring 17-inch alloy wheels with a black and machined finish. The Outdoor trim level showcases rugged 18-inch alloy wheels with a gunmetal painted finish. Finally, the Limited and Premier models receive bold and adventurous 18-inch black and machined finish alloy wheels.
LED Headlights
All versions of the Subaru Outback are equipped with standard LED headlights, which cast a brighter beam for increased visibility. These headlights automatically turn on in low-light conditions or when the windshield wipers are in use. They also feature High Beam Assist, which automatically turns the high beams on when the road ahead is clear and turn them back off when other cars are nearby.
Aerodynamics
The 2021 Subaru Outback features streamlined aerodynamics, including sculpted side mirrors and wheel designs, that help reduce wind noise, increase stability and boost efficiency. Models equipped with the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder feature the Active Grille Shutter, which opens and closes for optimum efficiency. With the front grille shut, wind resistance is reduced and the engine warms up faster; with the grille open, the airflow helps cool the engine.
