Subaru in Super GT

Originally known as the All Japan Grand Touring Championship (JGTC), Super GT has developed into the most prestigious production car race series in the country. Subaru first entered in 2005 with the Impreza WRX STI, then moved on to campaign the Legacy and, since 2012, has fielded a race version of the BRZ.

There are two classes in the series: GT500 (for cars with up to 500 hp) and GT300 (for those with up to 300 hp). Racing in the latter class, the Subaru BRZ GT300 features a modified SUBARU BOXER engine, a 6-speed sequential gearbox, an adjustable race suspension and racing tires that are more than 12 inches wide! Subaru Tecnica International (STI) prepares the car together with race team R&D SPORT.

Super GT is the most hotly contested race series in Japan — it sees domestic manufacturers such as Subaru compete against international manufacturers from around the world. The Subaru team, which has captured a number of podium finishes in the past, is a regular contender for victories and the series title.
